Hügel nahe Bombay mit über 100 frühen buddhistischen Wohn- und Kulthöhlen. Älteste und bedeutendste ist die große Caityahalle (Nummer 3) aus dem 2. Jahrhundert, die tief (30 m × 15 m) in den Fels hineingemeißelt ist. Ihre Fassade zeigt u. a. Felsreliefs stehender Paare (Stifter?). Im Innern lässt ein Säulenumgang die Höhle dreischiffig erscheinen, kulturelles Zentrum ist ein 5 m hoher monolithischer Stupa; skulpturaler Schmuck aus der frühen Phase der buddhistischen Kunst; die figürlichen Darstellungen des Buddha stammen aus dem 6. Jahrhundert.
